How To Fix Swollen Lug Nuts
This seems to be an issue that is unique to Ford products with these types of lug nuts, but in case your factory (OEM) lung wrench that came with your vehicle suddenly will not fit your lug nuts, you may have yourself a set of swollen lug nuts, and here’s the best way on how to fix swollen lug nuts.

The problem is that Ford, in their years of wisdom, decided to make their lug nuts look pretty, to cover them with some cheap, thin metal, that over time, swells so badly you can no longer get your lug wrench or socket over the lug nut.
NOTE: Once your lug nuts are swollen, you cannot reuse them safely because they become damaged when they are forced off your wheel.
Tools needed: a socket that is slightly larger than your current (swollen) lug nut size. For this 
example, we have a 19 mm lug nut and socket. With the lug nuts swollen, the 19 mm socket or wrench did not fit. Also, the 20 mm socket was too large. So we settled for a 3/4″ socket that was tight.
Next, you need a rubber mallet or a hammer. Take your slightly oversized socket, place it over the swollen lug nut, and strike it with your mallet or hammer until it seats nicely over your lug nut.
